Expertise

Welcome to the Expertise and Resource Registry

In addition to the our wildlife pathology database, we maintain an Expertise and Resource Registry to help track individuals and institutions with specialised skills, diagnostic tests, and diagnostic materials that could be of value for wildlife health investigations or wildlife health emergency events. Through the Australian Biosecurity Intelligence Network (ABIN), we are now able to bring that database to stakeholders in a secure, online environment.  The Expertise and Resource Registry is available through the WildHealth Project of ABIN www.abin.org.au.

Please take the time to download, complete and return the registration form.

Information maintained within this database is managed in accordance with the ABIN Terms and Conditions of Use and the Information and Privacy Policy, which are both available from the WildHealth home page. In the Expertise Section of the website, we have published a directory containing useful contacts for many of the institutions maintained within the Expertise and Resource Registry.  We have also published lists of individuals and organisations that have offered their expertise in certain fields, or offered a wildlife health related service.

It would be very expensive and difficult to maintain national serum and tissue banks for wildlife.  Yet serum and tissue banks could be very useful for researchers, or for tracking emerging diseases.  The Expertise and Resource Database is designed to be a virtual tissue bank, so that we can track tissue samples in freezers across Australia.

A Registration Form is available for you to join the Expertise and Resource Registry, or update your details in the database.

Privacy policies prevent us from publishing contact details of individuals on the website, so if you wish to make contact with one of the individuals listed in the database reports, please contact the Registry.
